Car turn signals are a common feature of modern vehicles that serve a number of purposes. From warning drivers of potential hazards to indicating a change of direction, they have become an essential safety mechanism on the road. The most common type is distress or emergency. It's about the lights which flash simultaneously in all four corners of the car, indicating that the driver is experiencing an emergency or needs assistance.

Hazard warning lights are usually activated by pressing a button or turning a switch on the dashboard. They are used to warn other drivers of a potential hazard on the road, such as a traffic accident, a stalled vehicle or a road closure. Another type is flashers or indicators lamps. These are the flashing lights on the front and rear of the car, indicating a change of direction.

Turn signals are used to inform other drivers of the driver's intention to turn left or right. They are activated by turning a lever or pressing a button on its column steering wheel. Flashers are important to prevent accidents caused by sudden lane changes or turns. They are also not limited to abroad of the vehicle. Many modern cars also have internal turn signals.

These are usually located on the dashboard and are used to alert the driver of a potential problem with the car. For example, if the engine oil pressure is too low, an internal will light up on the dashboard, indicating that the driver should check the oil level immediately.

In addition to the traditional ones, there are more advanced safety features that use flashing lights to enhance driver safety. For example, some cars are equipped with adaptive headlights that use sensors to detect oncoming traffic and adjust the headlights accordingly. When the sensors detect an oncoming car, the headlights flash rapidly to warn the driver of the other vehicle.
